OceanRobotCamAs the lead inventor of the world famous SharkCam and TurtleCam robots, dubbed OceanRobotCam by Amy, this technology inspired our path to highly visual and impactful ocean observations as seen on Discovery Channel and National Geographic. New generations of ORC will teach us more about the world's most enigmatic creatures.
Amy was featured on Shark Week and National Geographic over a decade with hits like Return of Jaws, Jaws Strikes Back, Shark Trek, Jaws of the Deep, SharkCam Stakeout, SharkCam Strikes Back and Sharkfest, Planet Shark. However, our favorite and beloved Turtlecam, was not just a piece of tech, but a program developed by Amy in her spare time and a collaboration with Dr. Kara Dodge at NEAQ to teach the world about the importance of sea turtles. That mission carries on with Scibotics. |
Climate StudiesClimate Change challenges mankind and innovation is key to learning how to prevent irreversible impacts. Key innovation, founded by Scibotics lead Amy while at WHOI, highlights what is needed for averting crises whether the topic be oil spills, invasive species monitoring, or melting glaciers. From novel sensor development like water samplers, holographic imaging of plankton and oil droplets to new automany behaviors for ‘reacting’ to anomalies in the environment and collecting key data when needed, Scibotics holds the keys to ocean discovery.
